About the workshop:
Escape from every day with this dream collab between Rochelle Van Der Merwe’s STORYHOLDING and Jess Waterman’s B. FOOD DESIGN AND CATERING (also owner of Little Mouse Teahouse).
Get crafty with a small group of like-minded ladies (i.e. anyone identifying as a woman) where we ditch the screens and bring along whatever crafty projects we’ve been working on (even if it’s just a fancy colouring-in book – NO judgement here) whilst indulging in the most BEAUTIFUL high tea from yesteryear.
Cost:
$65 per person, per gathering (includes a STUNNING High Tea served on vintage wares & access to all current exhibitions & Montsalvat’s beautiful grounds – also tea, coffee, amenities & other super important elements that are needed to make a gathering like this flow smoothly).
Who are the Crafty Possums:
We’re a like-minded bunch of art-loving ladies (anyone identifying as a woman) who would love to go back a few decades when women used to get together and sit and craft and eat and drink together… It would be nice to share ideas, skills, and even perhaps create chances for collaborations.
What sort of people will be Crafty Possum members?
It consists of a bunch of very creative, and like-minded people who’d get together once a month to share creative ideas and general existential issues whilst crafting together. Bring whatever crafty, offline project you’ve been meaning to work on (and now finally can!).
Why do we need Crafty Possums?
It’s a way to stay sane in a world so fast and disconnected, a way of forming a little village of people who just like to get together and do as people have done before life got so busy: hang together, indulge in beautifully-crafted High Tea and get CRAFTING 🙂
What is the maximum amount of attendees per Crafty Possums gathering & why?
12 People, because we don’t really want to sit on each others’ laps (not that kind of party).
Are darling children allowed to come to Crafty Possums too?
We love our joeys, but this will be an adult-only space, because we sometimes need it and crafty ladies mostly carry sharp, scary tools/equipment around.

Any words (poems, lyrics, letters, literature) & photos/prints/paper materials you may wish to incorporate into your art piece. However, the wide, eclectic selection of visual material I’ll provide, will be more than enough if you choose to come as a clean slate (the latter HIGHLY recommended)!
