In 2024, on my way to my first Grampians Texture Art Retreat in Halls Gap, I found a mural in the middle of nowhere carrying the words: Everything Will Be All Right. I snapped a quick photograph and tucked its message close—a hopeful little omen for the week ahead.
Later, that photograph became the heart of a hand-cut collage, alive with bright pink, finely cut Gelli-Plate prints made from fallen autumn leaves, and flashes of gold foil. This umbrella design draws from one of those delicately cut leaf prints.
It felt like a portal opening: a reminder that what we learn, make, and dare to hope for can travel into the world in all sorts of joyful forms—umbrellas, greeting cards, bags, and goodness knows what else. At its heart, this is an invitation to play, experiment, and stay curious; a small, bright skip towards being more present.
